Gas-fired power stations may be built in Latrobe Valley Vic BUT Generators pressuring Labour for "adequate compensation" for the introduction of the Carbon Reduction Scheme, by saying they wont go gas if they don't get the compo. Hazelwood Power Station could close down by 2013

Power stations in the Latrobe Valley could begin closing down as soon as 2013 (according to 'confidential' govt documents). Hazelwood Power station could close as soon as 2013. ..with Yallourn power statiion closing 5 years later (Latrobe Valley Express Mon 19 October)
