Methane, bicycles and stupid Australians

Australia is the most wasteful and ignorant country in the world. We've introduced a carbon tax which is passed on to the consumer, and the royalties are given to govt to spend on infrastructure programs such as roads - not carbon farms. Roads promote our car centric lifestyle. We are the only country to criminalise cycling throught mandatory helmet laws (they halved cyclist numbers overnight when introduced in 1991). "The accident happened near my street. Last year I asked the council to put lights at the intersection because it is not safe to cross, especially with a school only a block away. Of course they didn't. I guess more good people have to die…"
