Sustainable development is irrelevant. We are facing an immediate emergency. We need quick fixes and short term solutions. Long term solutions can come later, after we have prevented the apocalypse.
Um... Brad... Don't you feel a bit stupid wearing a T-Shirt denouncing half the world's green energy, while complaining that we aren't treating global warming as the world's biggest emergency?
Did you know that anti-nuclear scare mongering has kill…

Whether it is renewable or not is irrelevant. We have an immediate problem to solve right now or the planet will be permanently destroyed. This is a short term issue, because unless we succeed in the short term, there won't BE a long term.
We need…

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY OUTRAGEOUS! How dare you come on an anti-global warming campaign website and attack the leading alternative energy source. Do you morons have any conception of how much global warming would be caused by your actions if you were su…

I respect and value your opinion. However I encourage you to look deeper into the issue of uranium mining and the way in which nuclear energy has been presented as a clean green alternative. Nuclear power does generate significant quantities of CFC, and uranium mining, milling, enrichment and reactor construction all generate massive quantities of carbon dioxide. In addition to that uranium mining uses copious amounts of water. Roxby Downs in SA uses 35 million litres from the Great Artesian Basin per day, and more water is used to produce nuclear power than any other energy source. We all want quick, effective solution to greenhouse gas pollution and global warming, but nuclear is NOT the answer. Focussing on nuclear is a deliberate ploy to distract attention and action, away from the real solutions to global energy and pollution problems. One such step is moving subsidies and investment from coal and nuclear to renewable energy technologies, while significantly improving industrial and domestic energy efficency including transportation.
That's without even commenting on uraniums radioactive legacy and its role in the nuclear weapons industry ...
Oh, and lets not forget that the legacy of Chernobyl and Three Mile Island, among others that have not reached global media status ... still live on.
