The deniers do seem hard at work, and there does seem to be alot of them, I think we need to remember that they influence people and find new recruits so to speak, I heard somebody on talk back radio only last week suggesting that people need to rea…

You’re right Madeleine. It seems that the deniers are very hard at work. There are so many of their comments that you would think they hold the majority view on climate change. Ronnie Wright World Change Café

Reading the comments under any climate change related article in a mainstream news source I am always astonished at the number of climate skeptics. Considering the amount of money Exxon has spent funding misleading information on such a complex topi…

Yes, a truly evil corporation. I agree with Dr. James Hansen that the CEO of Exxon should stand trial for crimes against humanity; right beside George Bush and John Howard. We may need to add Kevin Rudd and Barrack Obama as well if they continue do…

A climate plan for the U.S.A.

The USA is responsible for 20% of the worlds emissions, but as well as tackling the global warming problem, they need to reduce oil dependence, strengthen energy security, create jobs, address air pollution, and in turn improve the health of their citizens.
The Union of Concerned Scientists with all this in mind has just produced - Climate 2030: A National Blueprint for a Clean Energy Economy, and if followed it would cut emissions consistent with the science while also having numerous benefits… Continue

Exxon Mobils crimes against humanity.

Cindy Baxter from Greenpeace, has reported that Exxons 2007 Worldwide Giving Report, shows that Exxon was funding a total of 37 global warming denialist groups. In 2008 after years of denying it, Exxon (the worlds largest oil company) caved in to pressure from shareholder activists and publicly admitted funding denialist groups, in their 2008 Corporate Citizenship Report (page 41) they said - "We will discontinue contributions to several public policy interest groups, whose positions on climate… Continue

Worlds biggest health threat.

In today's Age (17/9), Adam Morton reports that doctors from five continents have warned that failure by world leaders to reach a strong treaty, to cut greenhouse gas emissions this year at Copenhagen could be catastrophic for world health.
In a letter published in both The Lancet and the British Medical Journal, the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and 17 sister associations described climate change as the "biggest global health threat of the 21st century" and called on doctors to press… Continue

Ending the deadly addiction

When a doctor tells an addict that there habit is slowly killing them, and ruining their life, denial and continued use is a common and tragic occurrence, in 1988 NASA's Dr James Hansen told a US Senate committee that human activity was heating up the planet, then in spite of mounting evidence, for almost twenty years the world maintained a state of collective denial, last year NASA's Dr James Hansen called for a ban on new coal fired power stations and said the fuel was "the single greatest thr… Continue

Tens of millions of climate refugees ?

Water is the second most important resource to every human on the planet, and only 2.5% of the worlds water is fresh, of that 2.5%, 3/4 of it is locked up in glaciers - Antarctica and the Arctic store the greatest volumes and coming in third is the Greater Himalayas (Himalayan range, Hindu Kush, Tibetan Plateau) in Asia.
The Greater Himalayas feed the eight largest river systems in Asia, (Indus, Ganges, Brahmaputra, Irrawaddy, Salween, Mekong, Yangtze and Yellow) and a BILLION people rely on the… Continue
