Building a generation-wide movement to solve the climate crisis!

The Australian Youth Climate Coalition is a coalition of 27 of the largest youth organisations in Australia. We’re united by a common thread: our vision of a safe climate future.

The Coalition was founded in November 2006 and we now have thousands of young people involved, and offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. In our first year alone we helped organise the Live Earth concert in Sydney, promoted the release of Turning the Tides, a compilation CD by Australian artists calling for greater action on climate change, and sent delegates to the UN Climate Conference in Bali in December 2007. In 2009 our biggest project is Power Shift, a massive three-day climate conference to be held in Sydney in July for 3,000 young climate activists.

Our mission is to build a generation-wide movement to solve the climate crisis by uniting diverse youth organisations around this common challenge. Through our member groups, we inspire, educate, empower and mobilise young Australians to take action on climate change. We coordinate, communicate and network with each other, and run shared projects and campaigns

Hi AYCC - you guys are doing some awesome work and your Power Shift conference is sounding like it will be really amazing and powerful. I've met a few of your Brissie folks - and like you say, it's your future that's at stake and the voices of young Australians have got to be heard on these issues!
