I worked out that for us, it will take 4 years to pay off as i received a government rebate. My electricity bill for the whole year was $60. We are careful to turn off the computer when we are not using it, and have energy globes through the house, but we do have a standard electric hot water system, which i will replace with solar hot water when it eventually karks it! I'm really happy with the switch to solar, its been about 18 months now, :) Margaret

Hey Margaret, do you have any idea how long until it pays itself off?

My dad lives in the country where there is no grid, he's on solar power - it's fantastic. he probably only has to turn on the generators a couple of days a year.
