A Climate For Change

Because climate change is seriously uncool.

I would like to screen the famous movie 'The Age of Stupid' somewhere accessible in Sydney but only have a small living room.
Since I would like to invite 20 or more to attend my living room is not possible. Is there anyone out there who is willing to donate the use of a space for one evening in the lead-up to the 350.org 24th October climate day of action? I will pay for the license to show the film, which must be booked through 'indie'
Any offers?

Hello Caroline
Sorry we can't offer you a room but you may be able to help us with a little information. The monthly Climate Action film group in Launceston Tas. is interested in screening The Age of Stupid. How did you get hold of it? How much did it cost? Is it true (as indicated on the film's website www.ageofstupid.net/ ) that you can't make a booking until 5 October & you can't screen it until 24 October?
Hope you get your room & your crowd!

Ros,
I have the following instructions from Ben Hecking who is the Indie distributor for Australia - I don't know how fast the trunover is but you can make enquiries, you may be able to get a booking before 24th October still. I have not got the movie and becuase I don't have a venue yet, I have not made a booking either. Still hoping it might happen tho...

You can book an Indie Screening by following the instructions below;

from

ben@ageofstupid.net
Go to the www.indiescreenings.net site?

By clicking on the green 'Start Booking Now' button you will be able to generate a price for your screening.

You can get a quote for your screening BEFORE you pay so don't worry you are not committing to anything.

In terms of what you need - a DVD player is a must, people have had problems playing the film from laptops, but apart from that - it's entirely up to you. TV? Projector? You decide. :-)

When you do decide to book the film you need to give us enough time to process the screening and get the discs out to you. Ten days should be enough time and the discs will arrive three to four days BEFORE your SCREENING to give you time to make sure everything is working.

If you do have any problems with the website then please do not hesitate to get in touch with me. Hopefully though it's all very self explanatory and easy to use.

Very best wishes,

Ben Hecking
Indie Screenings Co-ordinator
