Event Description

World hunger has just hit 1 Billion.

1 Billion. It's a figure that's hard to grasp, but behind it lies individuals, people like you and I, who are facing starvation daily because they can't get access to food.

Our world is facing the greatest food crisis of all time - the causes are many, the effects far reaching - and we must respond.

Join us as we expose how and why the crisis is happening, hear stories from those most affected and find out what needs to change if we are going to end this chronic hunger that plagues one sixth of all humanity.

Come and hear our speakers address food security and it's connection to climate change, trade, biofuels, greed and population (to name a few), all of which must be addressed we want to live in a world where no one goes hungry.

Come with your questions, find some real answers, and see how you can be a part of the solution.

David Lansley - World Vision Senior Economist
Julie-Anne Richards - Oxfam's Climate Policy Advisor
Alana Smith - National Director Vision Generation
Ben Namakin - Climate Activist from Kiribati & Micronesia
